Kof-K, December 2007 - Present; I am currently employed by the Kof-K. I have been working mostly on the iKosher (formerly Kosher Connection) software using PHP, MSSQL, HTML, and Javascript.
Arlin Technologies, November 2006 - Present; I worked part-time by Arlin Technologies (www.arlin.net) doing miscellaneous PHP projects. The projects I have done include an e-mail list and some work on the MapleTime software (www.mapletime.com). I now do some occasional freelance programming for them.
Kosher.com Shopping Cart Project, August 2007 - October 2007; I worked with Kosher.com, an online Kosher supermarket, as part of a team building a new shopping cart for their website using PHP, MySQL, and Smarty templates.
Noble Jewels, July 2007 - present; I was responsible for implementing major changes to www.noblejewels.net including transforming the site from static HTML to PHP. I currently host and maintain the site.
Josh's Web Site / Jest Joshing -
www.joshlintz.com.
Project Description: I have been maintaining a personal web site since high
school. The main feature of this site is the Jest Joshing section,
which is a compilation of 300 jokes. I gathered these jokes from emails I have
received since high school and in 2001, I edited them and printed them out as a
book. In 2004, I wrote an ASP script to parse the MS Word document into
separate text documents for each joke and then created an ASP webpage
displaying them. I have since added sections for pictures and videos and
converted most of the site to PHP.
JEPLI Project; Employer: Jewish Education Program of Long Island.
Project Description: Creating an html-based data-management system using PHP
and MySQL to help JEP keep track of data about events, members, and staff. I
started this project when we were asked to submit ideas for a group project in
Software engineering I. Our group ended up choosing the PIB project over this.
I have been working on it between semesters since then.
The Alter on the Parsha, December 2006; I created a web site (www.growthandgreatness.com) for an organization to send out weekly newsletters. This application includes features for users to subscribe and unsubscribe from the list and for the administrators to send emails to all or some of the subscribers. The site also automatically archives past issues and adds links to them on the site.
Torahstation Podcast, April 2007; www.torahstation.com/podcast.aspx; I created dynamic podcasts of classes and lectures from Valley Torah High School. The podcast XML is dynamically created from a PHP script and MySQL database.
IsraelNewsLinks.com, Summer 2006; I created this website using PHP and MySQL. The site has a PHP script that crawls a number of news sites and collects news headlines about Israel into a MySQL database. The site displays these headlines as links to the actual articles.
RTI Internship, Jan 2005 -
Feb 2005; Employer: Referral Technologies Inc.
Project Description: Used PHP and MySQL to develop a complex community website. We used the phpNuke template and
modified it to our needs and specifications for the Los Angeles Jewish
Community Website at www.sametla.com
Screen Scraper Phone Pages. I wrote some screen scraping scripts to extract content from large web pages to view on my mobile phone browser (www.joshlintz.com/phone).
ASP Internship, Oct 2004 -
Jan 2005; Employer: Pod Web Design
Inc.
Project Description: Maintained websites using ASP, ASP.NET, and MS SQL Server.
One of the websites was www.hostessinternational.com.
I helped fix some of the ASP code and wrote some SQL queries to get information
for the meta tags.
Family Tree Program, Spring
2004; Data Structures II class at Touro College
Project Description: Created a family tree web site using C++, CGI, and OOP. We
first created a C++ command-line program and then converted the interface into
HTML with CGI scripts.
Other Web sites I worked on:
http://www.zichrondovid.com - I created an 'Emergency Wartime Appeal' page and fixed up the ASP code in the other pages.
http://www.lintz.net/josh/toyota - List of Toyota dealers. I wrote this script for RTI. The code originally populated a database with the list by crawling Toyota's web site. It is now a cached version of the original output.
http://www.thevalleycommunity.com/ - I helped update some of the code including the RSS feed.
http://www.lintz.net - This used to be the home page of Lintz, Glover, and White Inc. I worked on the site while I was in high school after teaching myself HTML and later changed it to what it is now. I also created pages for my brothers at www.lintz.net/benji and www.lintz.net/dovid.
http://www.sneetches.net/pib - Web site for the PIB project (see below)
Java Tetris Game, Spring
2004; Object-Oriented Programming class at Touro College. Spring 2006; Software
Engineering class at UIUC
Project Description: While studying Java in school, I created an applet that is a Tetris game that
can play itself. It averages about 500 lines and has gotten as many as 2000.
I recently refactored this program for a class project on refactoring. It
now averages about 800 lines.
Squeak Ludo, Summer 2006;

Palm Interactive Boardroom,
Sep 2005 - May 2006; Sofware Engineering classes (CS427 and CS428) at
University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Project Description: The PIB
is an application for a PalmOS Device with a wireless 802.11b/g adapter that
will connect to an 802.11b/g-enabled wireless video projector, send the PalmOS
device's video to the projector via the wireless connection, and provide
tap-to-forward, go back, cycle, and other functions to page through multi-page
documents, PowerPoint presentation, and other files that can be displayed as
images. Part of my job was to develop the website for the project.
Visual Basic Project, Jul
2004 - Aug 2004; Employer: Soft Smart Systems Inc.
Project Description: Used Visual Basic and MS SQL Server to create an
application that is used to deploy upgrades to an existing system. The
application copies updated files from the source system to the installed server
systems. The application also runs previously generated scripts on the server
system.
Josh's Games, Fall 2002 -
Spring 2004; C++ classes (Introduction, Advanced, Data Structures I and II) at
